Sheffield Wednesday have moved to confirm the current situation surrounding striker Fernando Forestieri.
The club have been forced to make a statement on their official website after rumours surfaced across social media yesterday that an arrest warrant had been issued for the striker, owing to him missing a court appearance.
However, the Owls have appeared to quash that thought now, confirming that both the player and club did not have an awareness of any such date, and that a new court date has now been agreed and the current warrant out for Forestieri will not be pursued.
The news will be a big boost ot Owls manager Lee Bullen, who could do with no distractions as he looks to lead his side to three successive wins today since taking over caretaker charge from sacked former boss Jos Luhukay.
Wednesday travel to West Brom today looking to make it three in a row and continue their excellent run of form, and with Forestieri now not being an issue, thoughts can turn firmly to football issues on the field rather than off it.
Goods news for Wednesday this, as they were in danger of becoming a bit of a laughing stock with this latest update.
Forestieri is a good player and he needs to get his stuff sorted off the field before making a run back at the first team.
