Sheffield Wednesday are hoping to have a good season in Sky Bet League One as they aim to win promotion at the second time of asking.

The Owls were in the play-offs last year which was the least they were hoping for, but ultimately they fell short at the semi-final stage, with Sunderland seeing them off.

In the off-season, the Owls have been busy signing new players to try and bolster their squad and chances for the coming campaing, though, and a number of arrivals have come in, particularly in midfield.

During a recent Q&A with Owls reporter Dom Howson, then, one Wednesday fan asked whether any midfield exits might now happen in the remainder of the window and, speaking via Yorkshire Live, Howson said it could be Alex Hunt that moves on in particular:

"I think the midfielder who is most likely to leave is Alex Hunt. Darren Moore has said he will make a decision on the futures of Ryan Galvin and Hunt following the conclusion of their pre-season programme.

"It is tough for Hunt. I don't see him getting a look-in and he needs to be playing regular first team football at this stage of his career. A loan move to a League Two club would probably make sense and I think there are a few clubs interested in taking Hunt on loan."

The Verdict

Ultimately, every footballer wants to be playing and when they see new arrivals in their position that naturally wonder whether they're going to be getting much game time.

It might be fair to suggest Hunt is potentially going to leave, then, and even if it's on loan for next season at least he will be getting those minutes that every footballer craves.
