Sheffield Wednesday midfielder attracts interest with summer exit looking likely

According to Portuguese media outlet A Bola, Portuguese outfit Pacos Ferreira want Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Felipe Melo at the club next season.

Felipe Melo is currently on loan at Pacos Ferreira after joining them from Sheffield Wednesday in January.

The central midfielder has started eight games in a row for Pacos Ferreira and has impressed his manager.

The report does not state whether Portuguese Liga NOS outfit Pacos Ferreira want to sign the 27-year-old on a permanent deal or whether they want to pursue another loan but his future at Sheffield Wednesday is in doubt.

The Portuguese midfielder has not played for the Owls in a competitive fixture since the 2014/15 season.

His lack of games are a combination of injury problems and just not featuring in his fellow countryman Carlos Carvalhal’s plans.

With just over one year left on his current deal, he might look for a permanent exit this summer.
