Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly lined up a move for Doncaster Rovers boss Darren Moore as their new manager according to the Daily Mail.

Moore has been with the League One club since 2019, and has taken them to fourth in the third-tier standings this term.

Doncaster ran out narrow 1-0 winners in their most recent match, which means that they've now won their last three matches in all competitions.

But it appears as though their good run of form hasn't gone unnoticed, with Sheffield Wednesday reportedly being keen on making him their new boss, after parting company with Tony Pulis after just 45 days in charge at Hillsborough.

Speaking in a post-match press conference (quotes sourced from The Star), Moore admitted that he won't be distracted by any talk on his future at the club, and is focused on the task at hand with Doncaster Rovers.

"Honestly, I know a lot of people are speaking about it, but tonight my focus is on the game and Doncaster Rovers - and that’s what it’ll remain until the next one.

"I’m focusing on Saturday, and I can’t stop the speculation and everything else… For me, I’m just focusing on team matters here."

Moore and his Doncaster Rovers side are set to return to action this weekend, when they take on Premier League side West Ham in the FA Cup.

Whilst Sheffield Wednesday travel to Goodison Park on Sunday, as they prepare to face Everton in the same competition, at the fourth round stage.

The Verdict:

It's not surprising to hear see him focusing on life with Doncaster Rovers for the time being.

Moore has really impressed me in charge of the League One club, and I think he'd be more than deserving of a move to the Championship in the near future.

I think Sheffield Wednesday would be making a smart appoint if they reached an agreement with Donny to make Moore their new manager.

But for now, he'll be focusing on getting positive results with Doncaster in League One, as they target promotion into the Championship themselves this term.
