Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay has confirmed that midfielder Barry Bannan could return for the under-23's this week as he steps up his return from injury.

Speaking following today's 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers, the Owls manager issued the update on the influential Scottish midfielder, who has been missing from the first team set-up for a few months now with injury.

The news will be a big boost to Wednesday fans, who have seen their side decimated with injury this season and seen themselves dragged into what could be a fight against relegation rather than challenging at the right end of the table and fighing for promotion.

Indeed, today's result against Bolton was another bitter blow in that fight, as Trotters forward Aaron Wilbraham scored late in the day to snatch a point for the away side.

Bannan has been a key member of the Owls set up for a number of seasons now, and it is clear to see that the team misses his range of passing and control of a game from the middle of the park.

Wednesday fans, what do you think? Good news? Let us know in the comments!
