This afternoon's second city derby between Aston Villa and Birmingham City ended in a 1-0 win for Dean Smith's men following a Jack Grealish winner.

However, the game will be remembered not so much for Grealish' winning goal, but for the mindless fan who ran on to the field in the first half and took aim at the unsuspecting Aston Villa midfielder.

The fan was swiftly ejected from the game and Grealish lucikly ok, but the reaction from around the footballing world is one of unity behind the Villa man.

And that includes players from rival clubs in the Championship too, as Sheffield Wednesday defender Michael Hector took to Twitter to denounce the behaviour of the so-called Birmingham City fan.

Hector has been making quite the name for himself during his spell with the Owls, helping turn the club's fortunes around with some fine performances under Steve Bruce.

His support of Grealish is unsurprising really given the context of the incident and the game in general, and Hector is clearly the sort of character who cares only about football matters.

The Verdict

This is top stuff from Hector really, who has shown his class in coming out and supporting Grealish.

The Chelsea loanee has been in fine form for Wednesday this term, and is the sort of character you'd seemingly love to have in your squad.
