Sheffield Wednesday drew 2-2 with Norwich City yesterday as the Canaries snatched a last gasp draw at Carrow Road.

Wednesday seemed to be on their way to a valuable win which could have affected the promotion race, but a last second free kick from Mario Vrancic ensured that Daniel Farke's men stayed top of the table heading into the final three games of the campaign.

However, it was a Sheffield Wednesday player who was singled out for praise for his performance in the game, with former Norwich City striker Darren Huckerby taking time out to show his appreciation of the performance of Owls striker Steven Fletcher.

The big Scottish striker put in a fine display at the top of the field for the Owls, and it was indeed a tough day at the office for Ben Godfrey and co in the Norwich rearguard.

Fletcher has got back to his best form under Steve Bruce it would seem and he will be hoping to lead Wednesday towards a play-off place next season once Bruce has had time to assess and re-jig the squad over the summer months.

The Verdict

Fletcher was indeed superb yesterday but he has been for some time now, and looks revitalised under Bruce and his coaching team.

His experience and knowledge of how to play the number nine role is crucial, and he's going to be key for the Owls going forward you would assume.
