Sheffield Wednesday youngster Jordan Thorniley insists he is happy to play anywhere for the Owls after featuring in different positions under Jos Luhukay.

Although primarily a centre-back, the 21-year-old has been used as a left-back and even as a left wing-back so far this season.

And, he has impressed, along with several other academy graduates who have stepped up under the former Gladbach boss.

Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Thorniley revealed that he will always give 100% when he pulls the shirt on.

"I play wherever I am told to play. If I have to play left-back, left wing back or centre half, I will do it to the best of my ability."

"I know I'm a centre-half but if the gaffer wants me to do a job in another position I will do my best for the team and try to contribute as best as I can."

The defender will hope to continue in the side for Friday's game against Middlesbrough, with the Owls looking to kick-on after breaking into the top six.

The Verdict

Clearly Thorniley is a centre-back but you have to commend how he has coped in different positions.

It's great for Luhukay to have players like that, not only for their versatility but also with the attitude that the youngster has.

Now, he will be hoping to win a place in the team for the big game tomorrow in what will be a real test for the Yorkshire side.
