Cameron Dawson will expect to play for Sheffield Wednesday tonight as they look to reach the quarter finals of the FA Cup by overcoming Swansea City at the second time of asking.

It was the young goalkeeper's brilliant reaction save that kept the score 0-0 in the original tie at Hillsborough and now the Owls travel to the Premier League outfit's Liberty Stadium to take on former manager Carlos Carvalhal to see who will take their place in the last eight.

The winner of the replay - which of course could go to extra time or penalties - will set up a home tie against whoever comes out victorious when Rochdale travel to Wembley to face Tottenham tomorrow night.

While Dawson insisted he is keen to knock his former boss out of the cup, he was also full of praise for the Portuguese for giving him his Wednesday debut and for the job he has done at Swansea.

He told the Sheffield Star: "With the injuries, obviously Carlos had to chuck me in and he always said he had belief in me. I went in feeling quite confident.

"I will always be grateful to him for giving me my debut but I will be trying to beat him on Tuesday. He has done a fantastic job; he has turned their results around. I fancy them to stay up now. He did a great job [here]. We made a play-off final and a semi-final.

“We will try and go there and get a result but we will back ourselves to do that. We want to get a positive result after Saturday and knock Carlos out of the cup!"

The Verdict

It would be tempting to say that Wednesday missed their big opportunity by failing to win the home game.

However, both teams go into this one off the back of conceding four goals at the weekend.

That means it is about which team can shake off the disappointment more quickly tonight and seize their opportunity.
