Sheffield Wednesday winger Adam Reach says there will be no room for sentiment when the Owls host his former club Middlesbrough on Friday evening, reports the club's official website.

He came through the youth system at the Riverside and played over 60 times for them before being sold to Wednesday for £5million in 2016.

"I'm sure there are a few of the backroom staff I will have a chat with," Reach said ahead of the fixture.

"But I'm passed that point now of where I feel any sentimental value or looking for revenge or anything like that."

"It is just another game that where if I do play I want to go out and put a good performance in and take three points."

The 25-year-old has been one of the club's star men during their rise up the table in recent weeks with the Owls breaking into the play-off places before the international break with a 2-1 win against Bristol City.

Reach has scored four times for Jos Luhukay's side this season with two being absolute stunners, one against Leeds United and the other just a few days later against West Brom.

Middlesbrough currently sit in in fourth place in the Championship table and just three points ahead of their Friday opponents so it will be viewed as a good chance to consolidate a top-six spot for Tony Pulis.

The Verdict

Reach is a Sheffield Wednesday player now and this is exactly the attitude you would expect from him.

He is one of the Owls most important players at the moment and along with Barry Bannan a member of one of the league's best creative hubs.

He will now be looking forward to Friday's game where he will hope to make another big contribution.
