Speaking ahead of Sheffield Wednesday’s clash with Burton Albion tomorrow evening, Vincent Sasso has admitted he doesn’t think Leeds United are a better team that the Owls, reports reliable journalist Leon Wobschall.

Wednesday are currently sixth in the Sky Bet Championship, whilst Garry Monk’s Leeds side are fourth, just three-points better off.

Sasso’s statement comes just eight days after Leeds beat Wednesday 1-0 at Elland Road, where Chris Wood’s goal was enough to settle a tight affair.

Wood was also on the scoresheet back in August, when Monk’s side were 2-0 winners at Hillsborough.

Despite the two results, Sasso believes Wednesday are just as good as their promotion rival, he said: “Leeds have beaten us twice this season, but I don't think they are better than us.”

Wednesday’s defeat at Elland Road looked to have put a dent in their Play-Off hopes, but Carlos Carvalhal’s side bounced back on Saturday, recording a 5-1 victory over Norwich City.

Carvalhal’s side are just five-points clear of Fulham, who are seventh in the Championship table.

While Wednesday face Burton on Tuesday, Leeds travel to Fulham, where victory for the Whites will help Carvalhal’s side, as they look to secure a place in the top-six.
