Despite Leeds United winning all three games and scoring 9 goals in that period, since Chris Wood's move to Burnley, there is no doubt the Whites must bring in at least one more striker.

Wood scored 30 goals in all competitions last season for Leeds and key in their seventh place finish.

He was just the 6th player in United's history to achieve this feat, joining an illustrious group of names which include Tom Jennings, John Charles, Peter Lorimer, Lee Chapman and Jermaine Beckford.

Since Wood's departure, Kemar Roofe has started the last two games in all competitions up front, scoring 4 goals, including the opener in Saturday's 2-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.

Leeds have already moved fast to replace Wood, bringing in highly rated nineteen year old Dutch striker Jay-Roy Grot from NEC Nijmegen.

United also brought in Ghanaian forward Caleb Ekuban from Chievo last month, however he is set to undergo foot surgery, due to an injury he picked up in a 2-0 win over Sunderland.

In spite of all this, Leeds must bring in another number nine and here are three possible options they could look at...

SHANE LONG

One possible option for Leeds could be Southampton striker Shane Long.

He has been capped 71 times by the Republic of Ireland and has spent most of his career in the top flight of English football.

Arguably Long's best season came in the Championship at Reading, where he scored 28 goals in 58 games in all competitions.

Long is good in the air, and has blistering pace and could fit right into Leeds' playing style.

However one possible stumbling block could be Long's wage demands, with his current earnings well above Leeds' structure.

A loan move would be the most likely deal and could certainly be the man to help fire Leeds to promotion.

GARY HOOPER

Another possible option Leeds could look towards is Sheffield Wednesday striker Gary Hooper.

Despite appearing in all Wednesday's fixtures so far, they are extremely top heavy in this position, with the Owls boasting a barrage of attacking talent, through the likes of Jordan Rhodes, Sam Winnall, Steven Fletcher and Fernando Forestieri.

Hooper is a proven Championship striker, and has scored goals wherever he has played.

However they maybe reluctant to sell to a direct rival which could prove to be a possible stumbling block to any move for Hooper.

LASSE VIBE

A final option could be Brentford striker Lasse Vibe.

Capped 11 times by Denmark, he has scored goals wherever he has gone in his career. Vibe has spent two seasons at Griffin Park and has scored twenty nine goals in the Championship since his move from IFK Goteborg.

The Thirty year old is well known for his pace and movement in behind, which could be perfect for Leeds' new playing style under Thomas Christiansen.

A bid of around £3m could tempt Brentford into selling Vibe, which in my opinion would certainly prove value for money.
