Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn are ready to launch bids for Tom Clarke, the Preston North End skipper – according to the Daily Mail.
Clarke has made 151 appearances in all competitions for North End since joining on a free transfer from Huddersfield in 2013.
In his time at Deepdale he’s helped the side win promotion from League One via the play-offs in 2015, as Preston thrashed Swindon at Wembley.
The 28-year-old has also played for Leyton Orient, Bradford and non-league side Halifax.
Preston have lost all 3 of their league games so far this season, to Reading, Fulham and Derby respectively, so it’s doubtful that manager Simon Grayson will want to lose his captain.
Blackburn have also picked up no points so far in 2016/17, losing both of their opening games, they visit Cardiff tonight.
While Sheffield Wednesday have claimed 4 points from their first three matches, beating Aston Villa and drawing with Norwich before losing to Burton.
