Sheffield Wednesday defender Dominic Iorfa has been named in the squad for the Owls' trip to face Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park today.

The centre-back emerged as a key figure last term but has been missing since September due to a hamstring issue.

Garry Monk suggested yesterday that Iorfa may be back in contention for today's clash with the Chairboys and that has now been confirmed.

Yorkshire Live's Dom Howson has revealed that Iorfa has been named in the Wednesday squad for the game at Adams Park this afternoon.

The 25-year-old's inclusion is a huge boost for the Owls as Monk's defensive options have been limited by injury issues recently and Tom Lees is suspended after being shown a straight red card against Rotherham United in midweek.

The loss to Rotherham was Wednesday's second defeat inside a week as they were defeated 1-0 to Luton Town last weekend.

Pressure is mounting on Monk following the Owls recent run of poor form and his side sit bottom of the Championship, 10 points adrift of safety, after starting the season with a 12-point deduction.

They face a Wycombe side that picked up their first point of the season against Watford in midweek.

Are these 10 facts about Hillsborough true or false?

The Verdict

Iorfa's return to the squad is a huge boost for Wednesday, particularly with a number of other defensive players missing.

The centre-back was fantastic for the Owls last term in what was ultimately a frustrating season for the Championship outfit and his return should help to strengthen their side.

You feel Monk needs a result today or he risks losing the Hillsborough faithful completely.
