Sheffield Wednesday are to enter talks with Watford’s Daniel Pudil despite the fact that they will be in the Championship again next season, according to ClubCall.
Pudil had a successful season long loan at Wednesday with manager Carlos Carvalhal utilising the Hornets defender in the left-back berth for most of the season.
During a promotion pushing campaign, where Wednesday made the play-offs, Pudil started 35 league games and was a key figure in the play-off games against Brighton and Hull.
A 1-0 loss to a Mo Diame goal at Wembley consigned the South Yorkshire side to another season in the Championship where they hope Pudil will re-take his left-back spot permanently.
The Czech Republican was criticised for his perceived weak defending for the Tigers match-winning goal but has had a successful season culminating in his call-up for the international side at the Euro’s.
Pudil has just one year left on his contract at Vicarage Road and the former Slavia Prague and Racing Genk player is valued at just over £1,000,000.
