Izzy Brown could be in contention to feature for Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday night when they face Brentford in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Owls know that two wins in their next two games would see them into positive territory points-wise in the table and that is surely the aim with them starting this season in very decent shape.

It'll be tough against Brentford, of course, but they'll be up for the challenge with the Owls boasting some good players of their own.

Brown could well play a part for the club on Wednesday night, too, with Dom Howson writing in a Q&A for Yorkshire Live that he was back in training and may be in contention to be involved against the Bees.

He wrote:

"I am told Izzy Brown is back in full training so it wouldn't surprise me if he returned to action on Wednesday night."

The Verdict

Having as many players as fit as possible for this season is going to be crucial for many sides as they look to deal with a congested fixture list.

Garry Monk will know that and that is why he was so keen to add players in the transfer window in order to give them the best chance of overturning the 12-point gap.

They've gone some way to doing that, then, and a win over Brentford tomorrow night would be a real milestone in their journey.
