Sheffield Wednesday have held talks with winger Kadeem Harris as they look to bring the former Cardiff City man to the club.

It was announced earlier this month that the 26-year-old would be leaving the Bluebirds when his contract expires at the end of the month.

And, the Sheffield Star have confirmed that the Owls are interested in the player and have opened talks with him about the possibility of joining Steve Bruce's side at Hillsborough, although they could face competition from Middlesbrough.

The report states that bringing in a wide man is a priority for the Yorkshire club after they let go Marco Matias and George Boyd leave whilst Rolando Aarons returned to Newcastle following a loan spell.

Harris featured 13 times for Neil Warnock's side in the Premier League last season, scoring one goal which came in a victory over Fulham. Despite the limited appearances, he did impress with his speed and direct style when he was given a chance to play.

Should the move for the former Wycombe man go ahead, he could join Julian Börner and Moses Odubajo at the club, with the defensive pair set to sign in the coming days.

The Verdict

This would be a very smart signing for Wednesday as they are desperate to bring in quality out wide and on a free Harris would be a fantastic addition.

He has qualities that the side need and is at a very good age, so it makes a lot of sense.

The worry will be that other sides are interested but if talks have already been held then the Owls are clearly in a good position.
