Sheffield Wednesday are facing a potential injury worry following another disappointing night in the Championship.
The Owls are facing an uphill battle to avoid relegation to the third tier and are in desperate need of points if they’re to catch those ahead of them in the table.
A clash with Huddersfield Town seemed like the ideal opportunity to do that.
Josh Windass found the net during the first half to give supporters real hope that they might come away with maximum points, however a late own goal from Callum Paterson proved costly as the Terriers secured a 1-1 draw.
To make matters worse the club suffered an injury blow when Sam Hutchinson was forced off the pitch after an hour following an awkward looking fall.
Darren Moore was asked about the injury after the game and said they’re waiting to hear a verdict on the severity of the blow.
As quoted by Yorkshire Live, Moore said: We’re not sure yet if it a muscle injury.
“We will assess him in the morning.
“We don’t know if it is cramp or a muscle injury. We will let the doctors see him in the morning and get a prognosis.”
Quiz: Did each of these 18 ex-Sheffield Wednesday players ever score a goal at Hillsborough?
This could be a massive blow for Sheffield Wednesday.
Sam Hutchinson has been a big player since returning to the club earlier this year after establishing himself as a first team regular once again.
The prospect of losing him for any amount of time is a real blow and Moore will be praying that he won’t be out for too long.
