Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sam Hutchinson says he plans to celebrate if he scores against boyhood club Chelsea in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The 29-year-old graduated through the Blues' youth sides in 2007, going on to make just six appearances but enough to pick up a Premier League winner's medal.

"A win would mean everything," Hutchinson told the pre-match press conference on Friday.

"I did an interview with Chelsea for their website the other day and I told them, if I score, I am celebrating.

"I don’t score many."

After various loan spells with Nottingham Forest, Vitesse Arnhem and Wednesday initially, he made his move to Hillsborough permanent in 2014.

Since then he has gone on to make just 114 appearances in an injury-hit spell with the club, only making nine this season as well.

Steve Bruce's side currently sit in 16th place in the Championship table with 28 matches played, teetering dangerously close to the relegation zone.

The Owls needed a replay to see off League One high-flyers Luton in the previous round of the tournament and will be hoping to put in a strong display at Stamford Bridge.

The verdict

This is what we like to hear.

One of my pet peeves in football is players not celebrating against former clubs. The reality is that the fans could not care less if they do.

Ok, maybe don't shush or taunt them, that could be a step too far, but honestly, we do not care if you score an important goal and go a bit mental as a result.
