Sheffield Wednesday have to be cautious with their use of Massimo Luongo, with the midfielder just one booking away from an automatic one-game suspension.

Luongo has picked up four booking already this season in the Championship, with his fourth coming in Saturday's goalless draw with Stoke City - his eighth appearance in the league.

Now, Tony Pulis is faced with juggling Luongo's possible suspension and an intense schedule.

Carvalhal? Luhukay? Who was the Sheffield Wednesday manager when each of these 15 Owls moments happened?

A report in Yorkshire Live notes that Luongo has to get through to December 15th without picking up a fifth caution if he is to avoid a one-game suspension.

The 28-year-old has featured from the start in all three of Wednesday's fixtures under Pulis, completing 90 minutes only once, though.

Tomorrow night, Wednesday take on Reading at Hillsborough, with Pulis looking to get one over the Royals, who were impressive winners against Bristol City over the weekend.

The Owls enter this week's fixture in the Championship bottom-three still, but a busy schedule does offer them hope of pulling themselves clear quickly.

After Reading, there's trips to Norwich City and Huddersfield Town awaiting, with Barnsley, Nottingham Forest and Coventry City then taking Pulis' side into Christmas.

The Verdict

It's a tough one for Pulis with Luongo.

Whilst he's walking a tightrope, you should still include him. It's pointless worrying about suspensions, it just never works.

If Luongo picks up a yellow card against Reading, Norwich, Huddersfield, Barnsley or Forest, so be it. Pulis will just have to juggle his options and find another solution to his midfield dilemma.

Pulling him out of the side would be a mistake and I don't see the Wednesday boss doing that.
