Sheffield Wednesday are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion forward Kenneth Zohore on a permanent deal this summer, according to journalist Alan Nixon.

The striker has struggled to make an impact at the Hawthorns since moving to the club from Cardiff City last summer, and a move away now looks to be on the cards for the 26-year-old.

Zohore joined West Brom for a reported fee of £8million last summer, but he has since made only five starts in the Championship thus far, scoring five goals in a total of 20 appearances for the Baggies.

Zohore also bagged nine goals and added five assists as Cardiff won promotion from the Championship in 2017/18, but the following season, he scored only one goal in the Premier League

The Danish forward has recently been linked with a move away from the Hawthorns, with Albion trying to bring in Karlan Grant from Huddersfield Town.

TEAMtalk have credited Middlesbrough with a loan interest in Zohore, however Nixon now claims that Sheffield Wednesday are looking to sign the striker permanently.

The Owls are in need of a new number nine after Steven Fletcher's departure from Hillsborough in the summer, with Atdhe Nuhiu also leaving the club on a free transfer.

The Verdict

Zohore performed really well for Cardiff as they won promotion to the Championship in 2017/18, so if he can replicate that form, then he'd be a good signing for the Owls.

He's strong, quick and possesses real aerial threat, and with the quality of wingers Wednesday have, his presence in the box could be lethal.

West Brom would surely want to cut their losses and sell him rather than loan him out, which probably puts Wednesday in the driving seat in the race for his signature.
