Sheffield Wednesday have joined the race for Watford’s 20-year-old forward Jerome Sinclair and want to take the youngster on-loan until the end of the season, The Yorkshire Post reports.

Since joining the Hornets from Liverpool in the summer, Sinclair has played just 78 minutes of first-team football for the Premier League side and is likely to leave on-loan next month.

Battling the Owls for Sinclair’s signature is Championship rivals Norwich City and Brentford, who both want to reignite their quest to push for promotion but joining Sheffield Wednesday could appeal to the young forward, as they’re currently sat in the top-six.

However, moving for Sinclair could be seen as a risk as he has managed just four senior league appearances during the past four years, including just a single appearance made during a loan spell with Wigan Athletic.

That said, he had previously impressed in Liverpool’s youth ranks that includes a run of six goals in seven UEFA Youth League appearances, which came amongst a haul of 22 goals during the 2014/15 season.
