Darren Moore is facing a colossal task with Sheffield Wednesday.

The Owls are looking like one of the favourites to suffer relegation from the Championship with the Yorkshire club currently seven points from safety with 12 games remaining.

Dropping to League One won't reflect badly on Moore who has been in charge for little more than a week, but it seems that he's looking to give himself every chance for success by bringing in a familiar face to his backroom team.

Reports from Football Insider have claimed that the Owls boss is plotting a reunion with Jimmy Shan.

Moore worked with Shan during his time as West Bromwich Albion manager between 2018 and 2019 and has reportedly identified him as a man who could be a key addition in helping Sheffield Wednesday to achieve their objectives.

Of course time is running out for Moore to rescue the Owls.

The Yorkshire side are on a run of six defeats in a row and are desperately needing results if they're to finish the season with their heads above water.

The verdict

This could certainly prove to be a good move by Sheffield Wednesday.

While the reports are yet to be confirmed there's a strong track record of Darren Moore and James Shan working together during their time together at The Hawthorns.

That could be key in helping in the Owls and fans will be open to any ideas that could finally get the team firing.
