Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to build on some improved displays in the Championship under the management of Garry Monk.

The Owls had previously been sat bottom of the second-tier standings, after being deducted 12 points at the start of this year's campaign for off-the-field problems.

However, in recent weeks, that points deduction has been reduced to just six points, which has seen Sheffield Wednesday

They followed that positive off-the-field update with a 1-0 win over promotion-chasing Bournemouth, before holding Millwall to a goalless draw in their latest match.

Speaking in an interview with the Yorkshire Post, defender Dominic Iorfa admitted that his side aren't scoring enough goals so far this season.

"We haven’t scored enough goals. But the main thing is we are creating chances. We know with the players we have got, we should be tucking them away."

But Iorfa also felt that the Owls are playing good football, whilst also praising the rest of the defence for their improvement, with back-to-back clean sheets after a previous poor run of results making good reading.

"Six goals in 11 games is not enough. But from the last two games, there are a lot of positives to take.

"We are playing good football, creating chances, and not conceding. Our defence has been good, clean sheets are something we have looked to target.

Sheffield Wednesday are set to return to action after the international break, when they take on Preston North End, in what is certain to be a tricky test for the Owls at Deepdale.

The Verdict:

He's spot on.

Sheffield Wednesday have scored no-where near enough goals this season whilst under the management of Garry Monk, and it's something that he needs to address in the near future.

Iorfa has been brilliant in defence, and I'd go as far as saying that he's been one of the Owls' best players so far this season in the Championship.

If Wednesday can start scoring consistently in the second-tier, then they'll soon find themselves climbing in the second-tier standings, after previous fears of relegation was eased after their points deduction was reduced to six not so long ago.
