Garry Monk has been dealt a significant blow with the news that he’ll be without Julian Borner for the clash with Charlton Athletic.
According to the Sheffield Star, the defender will miss the trip to the Valley on Saturday lunchtime after picking up his fifth booking of the season in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham City.
As a result, Borner has been handed a 0ne-match ban.
The news will be a big blow as the Owls look to get back to winning ways after a disappointing result against the Blues on Wednesday night.
Monk’s side took the lead early in the second half through Alvaro Giminez, before Kadeem Harris struck late on to salvage a point.
The Owls arguably deserved more from the game after dominating proceedings after recording 58% possession and having 24 efforts on goal in the 90 minutes.
However for Garry Monk’s side, it’s a case of not taking advantage of opportunities to take hold of the game.
He’ll be hoping to put things right at the Valley, but will face a tougher task without the 28-year-old.

Garry Monk will be determined to get a positive result when they take on Charlton Athletic this weekend.
Unfortunately, things will be much tougher without Julian Borner.
However if Sheffield Wednesday are to push themselves back into contention for a play-off place it’ll be crucial that they pick up a result against the Addicks.
