Villarreal's Slovenian defender Bojan Jokic, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, has emerged as a target for Sheffield Wednesday according to The Daily Mail.

The experienced left-back is heading into the final year of his contract and it appears that Villarreal are willing to cash in on the defender with Hillsborough being a potential destination for the 30-year-old.

Although Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly keen on signing the defender on loan, Villarreal may opt to hold out for a club to offer a transfer fee as they look to sell Jokic permanently.

Sheffield Wednesday being linked with Jokic would suggest that Carlos Carvalhal is looking at alternatives to Watford's Daniel Pudil.

With experience in the Championship, Jokic could thrive in the right system and Carlos Carvalhal may take the risk and look to sign Bojan Jokic.
