Sheffield Wednesday are keeping tabs on Aaron Mooy’s situation at Manchester City, with the Owls keen to sign the Australian over the summer, reports the Sheffield Telegraph.

Mooy has spent the season on-loan with Wednesday’s Sky Bet Championship rivals Huddersfield Town, where he has played a major role in helping the Terriers back to the top-flight for the first time since 1972.

However, Mooy’s next move is unclear, but it is likely Pep Guardiola will again deem him surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium, forcing another transfer over the summer.

A host of top-flight clubs are reportedly interested in Mooy, including Huddersfield, but Wednesday are keen to strike a deal to bring the 26-year old to Hillsborough, to bolster their own promotion chances.

Mooy’s Huddersfield beat the Owls in the play-off semi-final, leaving Carlos Carvalhal’s side suffering play-off heartache for the second successive season.

Over the course of the 2016/17 campaign, Mooy made 51 appearances, scoring four goals and adding a further seven assists for David Wagner’s Huddersfield.
