Sheffield Wednesday have completed a deal to sign Connor Wickham from Crystal Palace, the club have confirmed.

The forward has agreed a deal to join the Owls on a loan deal until the the end of the current season.

The Eagles striker has been heavily linked with a loan exit from Selhurst Park this month after falling out of favour with the Premier League club.

Wickham has fallen down the pecking order at Selhurst Park of late, and it seems that the signing of Cenk Tosun could have sealed the fate of the former Sunderland man.

Of course the former Sunderland man is a familiar face at Hillsborough having previously enjoyed two loan spells with the South Yorkshire club.

The verdict

A move to Hillsborough is ideal for Connor Wickham.

The player is in need of a move to reignite his career after a number of injuries, and Sheffield Wednesday could be the ideal place to do that.

The Owls are getting a cracking player which means it's a move that could be ideal for all parties.

If Wickham can find his form under Garry Monk then it could be an inspired move as Sheffield Wednesday look to push for the play-offs.
