Sheffield Wednesday are set to complete the signing of Leeds United defender Tom Lees, according to Sky Sports journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Lees is close to a move to Sheffield Wednesday.

Lees is close to a move to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Birmingham-born defender is a product of Leeds United’s academy and has made 123 league appearances for the club since making his debut for the club in 2011. Lees is a versatile player who can operate at both right-back and centre-back.

It appears though that the 23 year-old’s time with Leeds is up with local rivals Sheffield Wednesday close to completing a deal to take him to Hillsborough.

The Owls have thus far added only two senior players to their squad ahead of the new season as a takeover from Azerbaijani businessman Hafiz Mammadov has been sorted out. Goalkeeper Kerien Westwood and defender Sam Hutchinson have been the only two new faces at the Championship club this summer.
