Sheffield Wednesday are no longer pursuing a move for winger Josh Murphy as we continue through this final day of the transfer window.
The Owls are looking to add to their side as they battle against the drop in the Championship but it appears Murphy will not be a part of their fight.
Indeed, as per the Yorkshire Live, despite considerable interest in the player throughout the month, they have now ended their hunt for him.
It was expected that Cardiff were willing to let the player go with Neil Harris seemingly not fancying him at the club but, of course, Harris has been shown the door and under Mick McCarthy it appears Murphy is going to be offered a chance to underline what he can do – meaning a move is off of the cards.
Murphy could have been a good signing for the Owls this market but it’s not going to be happening now.
Perhaps they’ll wish they got it over the line before Harris went but you can’t predict the future and the manager change at Cardiff has obviously changed the dynamic in terms of Murphy’s future.
The Owls have time to bring in other players, though, so let’s see what the remaining hours bring.
