Sheffield Wednesday manager Stuart Gray has come up with an innovative idea to make one of the cup competitions a British player only tournament.
This idea comes the day after Football League clubs voted unanimously against Greg Dyke’s League 3 idea.
The FA is currently looking at ways to innovate new ideas to get more English players through the system and Gray firmly believes that this could be an idea worth looking into more thoroughly.
Gray said ” Something has to be done”
“I personally think that something could be done with one of the cup competitions where you have to play an all-British team”
“I am always trying to think of how we can give more opportunities to British talent.”
