Sheffield Wednesday boss compares his team to Barcelona to send positive message

Sky Sports News are reporting that Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal is pleased to see many of his key players returning from injury.

To demonstrate just how much these key players mean to Sheffield Wednesday’s success, Carlos Carvalhal compared each player to a top player at Spanish giants Barcelona.

Carvalhal told Sky Sports News HQ that Tom Lees was their Gerard Pique; Kieran Lee as Andres Iniesta; Gary Hooper as Luis Suarez; Sam Hutchinson as Sergio Busquets; Ross Wallace as Neymar; and Fernando Forestieri starring as Lionel Messi.

The Sheffield Wednesday boss used these comparisons to illustrate why his side have been faltering lately as he said that Barcelona would not be the same force without their stars.

Sheffield Wednesday have lost 4 of their last 6 games and their status in the play-off zone is hanging by a thread, with Fulham just one point behind.

The international break has allowed some players to return, though, and Carvalhal is pleased to have them back.

Sheffield Wednesday fans – what do you make of this? Do you agree with his comparisons? Does he illustrate a good point? Let us know in the comments below…
