Sheffield Wednesday announce new shirt sponsor



Sheffield Wednesday have today announced their new shirt sponsor for the 2015/16 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

With the club releasing images of their new 2015/16 home shirt, Sheffield Wednesday have announced that the family name of chairman Dejphon Chansiri will be the club’s official shirt sponsor for next season.

The club have maintained the clubs historical blue and white stripes and has also brought back the black shorts after feedback and research from supporters – the current kit manufacturer is Sondico.

The Thai businessmen bought a 100% stake in the club, from Milan Mandaric for £37.5m in January of this year and has targeted promotion for the Owls by 2017, which is their 150th anniversary of the clubs existence.

The Owls owner told the club’s official website: “To see the Chansiri name on our shirts for the first time will be an immensely proud moment and underline how we are part of Sheffield Wednesday and the city of Sheffield.”

“Serving as principal shirt sponsor also illustrates to the whole of the football world our total support for this club.
In addition, it highlights my full commitment and how I wish my family name to go hand in hand with what we all hope will be success for Sheffield Wednesday in the short, medium and long term.”

The clubs vice chairman Paul Aldridge added: “We had discussions with a range of high profile companies – some at home and some overseas – but the commitment from Mr Chansiri was overwhelming and the decisive factor.

The new strip is available to pre-order now and goes on sale on Friday 12th June.
