Sheffield Wednesday have parted company with manager Carlos Carvlhal, the club have confirmed on their official website.
The Owls have decided to part company with the Portuguese coach, with the official line being taken as mutual consent from the club.
Wednesday have had a torrid season after being expected to challenge for promotion to the Premier League after two successful seasons at Hillsborough which saw them come within a goal of earning promotion when they fell to Hull City at Wembley thanks to a Mo Diame effort.
Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri had last night come out in support of his manager but has now taken the decision to part ways with Carvalhal and he will now be on the hunt for a new manager as he looks to get his club’s season back on track.
It remains to be seen whether a replacement has already been lined up, and the news comes alongside the departure of Garry Monk from Middlesbrough, who defeated Wednesday 2-1 at Hillsborough yesterday afternoon.
