Burnley and Sheffield Wednesday are keeping tabs on Barnsley midfielder, Josh Scowen ahead of tomorrow’s 11pm deadline, according to Monday’s Sun Goals pullout, page 20.
Scowen is out of contract at Oakwell at the end of the season, so he would be leaving for nothing if Barnsley are to let him go in summer, or they could sell him now for a fee.
The Tykes have already lost key players this month in Conor Hourihane, Sam Winnall and James Bree, so losing another first teamer, won’t be on the agenda for Paul Heckingbottom.
Scowen is belived to have turned down a new contract at Oakwell, which could force Barnsley’s hand into selling unless they are happy to lose him for nothing.
Barnsley have had a great season so far and they sit just one point outside the Play-Off places, but having lost three key players already, their promotion push could be at risk of derailing.
Barnsley fans… What are your thoughts on losing Scowen? Would you sell him in the next couple of days? Or let him go for free at the end of the season? Let us know your thoughts below!
