Sheffield Wednesday and Brentford meet this evening at Hillsborough with both teams coming off the back of comfortable wins this past weekend.

Steve Bruce’s men saw off a gallant Swansea City side with ease, with them three goals up by half time to win 3-1 and remain unbeaten since the appointment of the former Aston Villa boss.

Brentford’s resurgence continued with the 5-1 demolition of Hull City at Griffin Park last time out.

Their respective victories mean the two teams are side-by-side in the Championship table, with the Owls one point and one place better off than their visitors this evening.

Ahead of the game, Sky Sports issued early team news from both camps.

For Wednesday, Fernando Forestieri will be available for selection after serving his one-game ban for a controversial second booking and subsequent dismissal last weekend having high-fived a fan.

The attacker might have to do with a place on the bench after the win over the Swans last time out.

Bruce is hoping to have three players who missed last weekend back for the match on their own patch tonight.

Morgan Fox (back), Jordan Thorniley (concussion) and George Boyd (illness) all missed the win and could be back in the side and available for selection.

Thomas Frank, meanwhile, will be hoping Marcus Forss and Luke Daniels will be available to play tonight.

Both missed the win over Hull last weekend with Forss having a setback in his recovery from a back injury and Daniels receiving encouraging news after a scan on a calf problem.

The verdict

Wednesday have lost their last two games against Brentford, but neither were at Hillsborough.

Brentford have lost three of their last four league visits to Hillsborough to face Sheffield Wednesday, winning just the once.

Both sides are evenly matched this season being next to one another in the table and have similar squad sizes and decent depth, too.

It will be an interesting clash against two teams who are slowly finding some decent form.
