Jack Hunt has taken to his personal Twitter account following last night’s FA Cup victory over Reading, with the Sheffield Wednesday defender expressing his delight at booking a place in the next round of the competition.

Jos Luhukay picked up a second victory of his Hillsborough tenure last night, as Sheffield Wednesday breezed past their Sky Bet Championship rivals, recording a 3-1 victory over the Royals.

Atdhe Nuhiu’s brace put the Owls on track, before George Boyd got in on the act, scoring his first since returning from injury.

Only a late Cameron Dawson own-goal prevented the Owls from recording a fourth straight clean sheet, with Luhukay continuing to impress following his appointment as Carlos Carvalhal’s successor.

Hunt, 27, who completed 90 minutes of last night’s contest, was one of many to take to Twitter following the Owls’ FA Cup victory, delivering a brief message, which read:

Luhukay’s side will now turn their attention back to the Championship, with the Dutchman looking to record his first league victory of the season next week, when the Owls travel to the Riverside Stadium to face Middlesbrough.

Wednesday currently sit 17th in the Championship table, and are without a victory in their last four league fixtures, which has left them 14 points adrift of the top-six.

The Verdict

As expected, Wednesday’s players are delighted to have progressed in the FA Cup, which has the potential to be a welcome distraction from a faltering Championship campaign.

The Owls are struggling in the Championship, but the early signs in the FA Cup indicate that Luhukay will take the competition seriously, which makes for an exciting campaign for the club.
