Sheffield United’s transfer plans are starting to take shape at the moment and Slavisa Jokanovic will be aiming to start completing some business in the next few weeks.

Jokanovic will be hoping to get the backing from the Blades to improve the squad in key areas that he feels need to be strengthened this summer. He has shown in the past that if backed properly in the transfer market, he can lead sides to promotion from the Championship.

There have already been plenty of transfer rumours concerning Sheffield United that have emerged in recent days. That shows that the Blades are beginning to ramp up their transfer activities and they will be aiming to get one or two deals over the line as soon as possible.

With that in mind, we round-up some of the latest transfer news concerning the Blades:

Experienced duo would be open to reuniting with Jokanovic

According to the latest report from the Sheffield Star, both midfielder Adlène Guedioura and forward Jonathan Kodjia would be open to the prospect of returning to the Championship this summer and link up with Sheffield United if they were to come in with offers for them.

Guedioura, who has had lengthy spells in the Championship with the likes of Watford and Nottingham Forest, joined Jokanovic’s old team Al-Gharafa and the midfielder would be open to the possibility of returning to the English second tier and reuniting with his former boss.

The Sheffield Star adds that former Aston Villa and Bristol City forward Kodjia is in the same position as the midfielder and would also welcome the chance to return to England from Al-Gharafa, if his old boss elects to make a move for him this summer.

It does remain to be seen though whether Jokanovic would want to be reunited with the pair.

Sheffield United unlikely to be paying Tom Cairney fee

According to the Sheffield Star, the Blades are unlikely to be willing to pay the transfer fee that Fulham are going to be demanding for midfielder Tom Cairney this summer with him now 30-years-old.

Football League World revealed the Blades’ interest in Cairney this summer, while teamTALK reported that Fulham could be looking for a transfer fee of around £10 million for him.

A further update from the Sheffield Star had revealed that Fulham would be prepared to potentially even raise their valuation of the midfielder, if they thought the Blades would be prepared to match it this summer. That comes with them not wanting to sell to a potential promotion rival.

The latest update from Sheffield Star seems to suggest that the Blades will not be able to make a successful move for the midfielder this summer, unless Fulham lower their asking price.

Sheffield United still expecting Sander Berge departure

The latest report from the Sheffield Star has reaffirmed that the Blades are still expecting midfielder Sander Begre to leave the club during the summer transfer window.

There have been reports from The Athletic that Arsenal are still interested in making a move for the 23-year-old, who is believed to have a £35 million release clause within his contract at Bramall Lane.

A further report from the Sheffield Star revealed that the Blades have informed Arsenal that they will not be entertaining any offers for him that are short of his release clause.

It seems though from the latest update that this has not changed the expectation of the Blades that they will be likely to lose him this summer.
