Sheffield United to challenge Celtic for signature of impressive 22-year-old

Sheffield United could go toe to toe with Scottish giants Celtic to sign Fulham man Lasse Vigen Christensen, according to Get West London.

22-year-old Christensen has been on loan with Burton Albion in the second half of the season, and it looks like his form for the Brewers has caught the attention of onlooking scouts, with the Blades now the latest club to want to sign him.

The Danish under-21 international currently has a year left on his contract, but is unlikely to be wanted by Fulham, who could be open to a deal in the summer for the versatile midfielder.

Christensen can play all across the midfield, and can also fill in as a full back, something which would be of specific value to Blades manager Chris Wilder as he looks for reinforcements for the Championship next season.

United sealed promotion yesterday with a 2-1 win at Northampton to cap a memorable season at Bramall Lane. They need just one win to secure the league title from their last four games.

Blades fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
