Sheffield United could move for Southampton striker Sam Gallagher, according to a report in the Sun.

The impressive Saints striker has been on loan with Blackburn Rovers this term, and has bagged himself 10 goals in what has been a struggling Rovers side.

It is this form which has seen the 21-year-old attract a host of interest from onlooking scouts, and it appears Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is the latest to be impressed by the striker's ability.

Gallagher burst onto the scene for Southampton as a teenager, but has since seen his progress slow as a Premier League player. However, his form for Blackburn this season has put him right back in the fold, and manager Claude Puel will be bracing himself for a host of bids this summer.

With the Blades looking like they are set to win promotion back to the Championship, manager Chris Wilder will be keen to strengthen his pack ahead of what promises to be a tough first season back in the second tier.

Gallagher could well be his man, if he can manager to get the Saints to accept a bid.

Blades fans, what do you think to this news? Would this be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
