According to The Star, newly-promoted Sheffield United have lodged a bid to Charlton Athletic for the services of attacker Ricky Holmes.
Blades manager Chris Wilder has already completed two signings since the close of the season, and could make it three if the Addicks accepted the club’s approach to speak with the winger.
Holmes played under Wilder at Northampton Town when they gained promotion to League One at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, but the boss went to Bramall Lane whilst the 29 year-old opted to sign for Charlton.
The forward bagged 13 goals for Karl Robinson’s side this year, becoming the club’s top goal scorer for the season and provided an extra six assists.
It is also understood that Sheffield United are interested in acquiring Portsmouth left-back Enda Stevens, who he has just won the League Two title with.
