Speaking to Sheffield Unitedâs official YouTube channel, Billy Sharp has been discussing the possibility of the Blades reaching the 100-point mark, on the final day of the Sky Bet League One season this weekend.
It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks for Chris Wilderâs side, who achieved promotion back to the Championship, before storming to the League One title over the Easter period.
Last weekendâs 3-0 victory over MK Dons moved the Blades onto 97-points, and success against bottom of the table Chesterfield on Sunday will see Wilderâs side reach a significant milestone.
Despite securing promotion and the title with games to spare, Sharp insisted Wilder warned his side not to ease up in the League One run-in, he said: âThe gaffer has challenged us, we got promotion and he said: âDonât you dare take your foot off it,â and we didnât, we wrapped it up early with the title, so weâve had a few games to celebrate.
âHe will be on at us this week, and no disrespect to Chesterfield, but weâve got a great chance at home to get 100-points, which I donât think anyone in the Football League can do this season, expect us.â
Sharp has been instrumental for the Blades this season, spearheading their title challenge by scoring 29 goals in League One, making the 31-year old the top scorer in English football.
