Sheffield United are looking to get back to winning ways this afternoon as they take on fellow play-off contenders Derby County.

The Blades have been on a poor run of form and are looking to get three points against the Rams at Bramall Lane to give their fans some Christmas cheer.

Chris Wilder's men have been superb in the main though, and sitting in sixth is a fine achievement for the Blades, who will no doubt be looking to add some new players to their squad when the January window opens in a week's time.

And one summer signing who will be like having a new player could be 22-year-old Kean Bryan, who has been speaking to the Sheffield Star about his frustrations since making a summer move to the club from Manchester City.

Bryan has had no involvement with the first team since his move, but admits he is now keen to get going following some game time for the under-23's.

"It’s been a case for a couple of weeks now of just getting some minutes, before stepping things up further. “It’s been so frustrating personally, it hasn’t been the best of start, in fact it’s been really tough having signed permanently having left Manchester City." Bryan said.

“It’s still pretty slow progress, but it’s just a case of racking up the minutes for the U23s and with that will come the match fitness and sharpness, I can’t afford any further setbacks."

Bryan praised what he said is a 'great group of lads' at Bramall Lane, and explained he is keen to just get back to fitness and start fighting for a place in the matchday 18.

The Verdict

It's been an annoying one this for everyone involved.

Bryan's signing was greeted with a bit of optimism in the summer given his City background, so his injuries and illness is a bitter blow to all.

Bryan will want to get back, and he might well be the breath of fresh air Chris Wilder's squad needs heading into the second half of the season.
