Following their promotion to the Premier League, Wolverhampton Wanderers' attention has turned to strengthening their squad for next season.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side has already been linked with a number of well-known names, but could that mean some of the old guard will be out of favour, and possibly out of the club?

Wolves captain Danny Batth enjoyed an on and off spell in the side last season, and could be a good addition to a Sheffield United side that finished in a reasonable tenth place.

Like Batth, Chris Wilder’s side had an up and down campaign, which ended with them finishing just six points below the play-off places.

After speculation about Wilder’s future at Bramall Lane, the Blades manager signed a one-year contract extension that will see him as the United boss until 2021.

As you can see above, we are taking a look at Danny Batth’s stats from this season, in which he has made 16 appearances for Wolves.

While Batth may not have had as much first team football as he liked, in the games he did feature in he managed an average of 5.6 clearances per match, as well as 1.5 tackles, making him an ideal centre back for Chris Wilder’s side.

With an average pass success of 77.8 from the 38.5 he makes on average each game, the 27-year-old is an all-round player, who would make a great addition for any side, if Wolves allowed him to leave Molineux.

Having put pen to paper on the new deal, Wilder can now turn to the transfer market and bolster his squad for next season, starting with Wolves’ Danny Batth.
