Sheffield United continue to fly high in the Championship, sitting in second and only behind pace setters Wolves as the international break unfolds.

The Blades and manager Chris Wilder have been seriously impressive thus far this season, continuing their march from League One last time out and already picking up massive wins against the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds, and coincidentally, Wolves.

However, with January rolling around quickly and plenty of Championship clubs no doubt looking to add to their squads, the Blades could well do with adding a bit more firepower to the squad, especially in wide areas to give Chris Wilder a different option.

One man who stands out as someone United should make a move for is Brighton winger and former Blade, Jamie Murphy.

The Scot was instrumental for the Seagulls last season as they sealed promotion to the top flight, but has found chances hard to come by so far as Brighton manager Chris Hughton added over 10 players to his squad in the summer.

Murphy though is a quality and proven performer at Championship level. A move back to the Lane would no doubt appeal to the former Motherwell man, and Blades fans would surely welcome him with open arms.

A player of immense skill, decent pace, and with an eye for goal, he's exactly the sort of player Chris Wilder's team is missing. If Murphy could join the Blades on loan in January, or even on a permanent deal, he might be the difference between a promotion challenge and a top half finish.

Blades fans, would you take Murphy back? Let us know in the comments!
