Sheffield United will head into the summer keen to make moves in the transfer market, but with the club still in with a shout of promotion through the playoffs, a lot could well change for manager Chris Wilder in terms of his transfer plans between now and then.

The assumption though here at FLW is that the Blades will just come up short, and that a second season in the Championship will beckon for the Sheffield club, who have been a revelation on the whole since making their return to the second tier after six years away.

Wilder will be keen to add some real quality to the ranks, and one position which will need new faces is up front, with an ageing strike force in need of some new blood and fresh impetus.

One such player we think could be an excellent capture for the club is former Blade and current Derby County man Nick Blackman, who has been enjoying a loan spell with Maccabi Tel Aviv this season, and making a decent fist of it as well.

Blackman though could be keen to get his career back on track in England, and he will be disappointed with his showing so far as a Ram, despite impressing for Reading previously.

The former Blackburn striker is full of pace and is a classy finisher, who, on his day, can really change a game at the drop of the hat. Blades fans saw glimpes of this when Blackman was with the club previously, and there's no doubt plenty of United fans would welcome back the player with open arms.

Blades fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
