Sheffield United head into today's game with Hull City knowing a win could see them top the table heading into the international break.

Chris Wilder's side have been good value for their position in the table, with the Blades putting in some excellent displays to find their form and put themselves right in the promotion picture.

The goals have flowed via the likes of Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick, and with midfielders like Mark Duffy and John Fleck also chipping in, things are looking good for the Blades as they head into the winter.

However, one man who has lost his form completely and is in desperate need of a goal is forward Leon Clarke, who looks a shadow of the player he was last term, when he finished top scorer for the Blades as they just missed out on the playoffs.

Clarke, who still holds a value of £750k on Transfermarkt, is now 33, and come the January window if no form is found, the Blades might well choose to cash in on the former Wolves man.

It is of course, unclear what has happened to Clarke. It isn't for a lack of effort, but the chances he was sticking away with such ease last term just don't seem to be going in this season, while Sharp and McGoldrick's form sees him down the pecking order.

It's a big few months for Clarke and United, but there is a sneaky feeling in the air that if Clarke cannot find his goalscoring touch once more, he could well be on his way out come the winter window.
