I'm sure the one thing Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder will want between now and the end of the season is for his Blades team to win the overall league title.

Having gained promotion to the Championship after a six year absence the Yorkshire outfit will be buzzing ahead of next campaign, but the boss will be accumulating his transfer targets for the upcoming summer window.

One suggestion I have is the £850,000-rated Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom, who is currently on loan at league leaders Brighton & Hove Albion.

Goals will be a reliable thing to come by at Bramall Lane with Billy Sharp consistently rippling the net, but they can't rely on one man in the next division - Akpom is the perfect candidate with his experience in the second-tier.

The 21 year-old has failed to make an impact at the Seagulls since moving there on a temporary basis in January but that shouldn't stop Sheffield United swooping in for his services.

It was at Hull City where the England under-21 international made a name for himself in professional football, scoring seven goals in 41 matches for the Tigers. Perhaps he has improved mentally and could be a star in Chris Wilder's team.

My thinking behind a permanent switch to Bramall Lane is that Arsenal are clearly not going to utilise Akpom and for me his career would be ruined if he continues to sit in the stands week-in, week-out when he returns to north London.

During his five loan spells; Brighton, Nottingham Forest, Hull City, Coventry and Brentford; the forward will have implemented some vital experience to his footballing brain and if Sheffield United do acquire his services then a top-half finish is surely on the cards for the Blades.

United supporters, would you welcome Chuba Akpom to the club? Or could the money be spent more wisely? What suggestions do you have? Let us hear your thoughts in the comments below!
