Sheffield United are set to make a bid for Leeds United striker and Nigel Adkins favourite Billy Sharp, according to FLW sources.
Former Southampton manager Nigel Adkins signed a three-year contract with League One side Sheffield United, after Nigel Clough was sacked by the club after failing to gain promotion.
FLW understands Adkins is keen to add an element of potency to the Blades side, and is set to make a bid for the former Southampton striker Billy Sharp, who has played under him numerous times.
Sharp signed for Leeds United last summer following his release from Southampton, where he then fell out of favour with the Saints after they were promoted to the Premier League and was sent out on loan to various Championship sides.
He linked up with Adkins in one of those loan spells, where he scored twice in ten appearances at Reading, before joining up with former club Doncaster Rovers on loan for the rest of the 2013/14 season.
