Sheffield United are set to make another move for Fulham defender Dan Burn once the loan window opens on Wednesday, according to the Sheffield Star.
The 23-year-old centre-half, who made nine appearances in the Premier League for the Cottagers back in 2014, saw a potential move to Bramall Lane collapse on transfer deadline day.
Yet, Blades boss Nigel Adkins is determined to get his man, who will bolster the defensive ranks at the League One side, and will make a move for him with the hope that the deal will be concluded before next weekend’s home match against Bury.
The 23-year-old defender is also keen to move to Adkins’ side after falling down the pecking order at Craven Cottage, most notably after the summer arrivals of Tim Ream from Bolton Wanderers, and Richard Stearman from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Burn, who has started three of Fulham’s five league games so far this season, was understood to have signalled his approval of the switch when Kit Symons’ side allowed United to open talks with him and his agent.
Burn, who’s over two metres tall, started his professional career at Darlington, before joining Fulham in 2011. He has previously had loan spells at Yeovil Town and, most recently, Birmingham City in 2013, before appearing 22 times for Fulham in the Championship last season.
